First sign of spring

As I was getting the mail the other day, I noticed the first sign of spring!  You have to look closely but it's there!  The first daylily is sprouting up.  Can you see it?

Even though the temp. is 41, I am ready for spring!  Enough of this cold winter weather!

I love my front door yarn wreath.  I simply wrapped yarn around a wreath.  When I first made it I contempleted on whether I should glue decorations on it or should I pin the items.  I opted for pinning.  It's a little bit more work but it's great when the season or holiday is over and you want to put something new up.

So I took off my winter flowers and pine cones and added some spring flowers, leaves and a yarn covered branch cut from my back yard.

The flowers were made from a goodwill polyster women's shirt.  You can find the complete tuturial at Jones Design Company.  These flowers turned out absoluely goergous!  I love them!  I have so many ideas on where to put them next.  I cut leaves from 2 different shades of green ribbon.  I tattered the edges for a more realistic look.

I have plans for adding a similiar type of flower to my faux branches that I will share soon.  In the meantime enjoy your first signs of spring.  We have been cooped up far to long!  Remember when the frosty front door was fun?

Thanks for stopping by!
